Dermal fillers

For lines that appear at rest. Gives volume and hydration for lips, cheeks, tear troughs and nose to mouth lines.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the skin that gives volume and hydration. When we age, the levels of hyaluronic acid decrease and the skin begins to lose its firmness and fullness. In addition to providing volume, they can improve the hydration of the skin from the inside out. Not all hyaluronic acids are the same, each brand has a range of ‘tissue tailored’ products designed for specific results. One size does not fit all. At The Face we only use high quality fillers that have undergone years of research. The type of filler that is suitable for you, will be assessed at your initial consultation.

How Does it Work?
Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers are a clear sterile gel in a syringe for injecting into the skin providing instant correction for lines that appear at rest. Hyaluronic Acid attracts and binds water in the skin, providing volume and hydration, but also cushioning and supporting collagen and elastin fibres. At The Face we are aiming to enhance your natural look.

How Long Will it Last?
Depending on the area treated and the product used the results will last for 6-12 months.

Does It Hurt?
We apply a topical anaesthetic to the area so the treatment should not be painful.

What Areas Can Be Treated
Lips – We can give a natural and rejuvenated look by adding volume to thin lips, Correcting asymmetry and creating definition to help with smokers lines or loss of the vermillion border.
Cheek – The cheeks are a key area for rejuvenating the face. As we age we often lose volume due to fat loss and collagen reduction which makes the face look flatter. This treatment can create more prominent defined cheekbones and volumes the cheeks.
Tear Trough – Tear Trough Fillers helps to reduce the “tired look” which are the hollows under your eyes with darker circles.

During & After Treatment
The treatment takes about 30 minutes, but your full appointment length will be longer so we can apply some topical anaesthetic to the area. You will see immediate results, although sometimes a little bit of swelling will naturally occur & some bruising is possible. We will give you a full list of do’s and don’ts & after care advice, but if you are concerned about anything, please call us. We will ask you to come back for a review 4 weeks after your treatment so we can assess the results. You can return to work immediately, although we recommend that you don’t massage the area or apply make up for 12 hours and avoid extreme temperatures & alcohol for the rest of the day.
